Terry Cloth Temptations

Our Story

Sorting through a box of old clothes, I stumbled upon a relic...
In 2002 I played for the powerhouse basketball team at Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington. We were loaded with talent. That year, the entire team was gifted pairs of very unique towel shorts to wear on game days.  They were statement pieces; very baggy, custom embroidery, and really like nothing you'd ever seen. The shorts were undoubtedly tight, but perhaps, they could have been something more.
A few years back, I was sipping on a holiday cocktail at my mom's house in the Central District, digging around in some old clothes and the relic was unearthed. Upon re-discovering the shorts, my life path started down a new, more scenic route - I had been chosen to create towel shorts that are functional, fly, and fit like the back seat of an old school chevy #hellacozy.
From there, I took my idea to the fashion district in my new home of Los Angeles, California. I found my fabric, but needed a shop to stitch up my new threads.  I checked out a few different tailors first, but nothing felt right.  Then I walked into Fernando's, a filipino bridal wear shop in East Hollywood, and everything fell into place.  The crew thought my idea was a little wild, but after some friendly banter and tinkering with the design, we realized we were cooking with gas.  The head seamster, Tai Tai, has since become an absolute homie of mine.  He is my 67 year old side kick.  Sky and Tai are a cultural phenomena.  We kick back, crush snacks, hit the streets in style, and make fly ass terry cloth lounge wear that has the fashion world buzzing.
I intended only to make a few fresh fits for myself; now we're banging out seasonal runs, custom fits for the homies, and by doing so, helping remind people to fucking relax.
